Eric Bugenhagen, co-owner of Psycho Pharma reporting in here...
Darren has decided it would be a good idea to let me take over some of these Psycho Pharma emails for a while, thinking that maybe some of you would like to hear my perspective on things.
So hear me out.
Why does all the actually valuable advice come from back in the day?
Everything’s about being optimal now...
Perfect reps. Perfect sets. Perfect exercises.
But here’s the deal.
Our freaking bodies are something like 60 to 70% water.
Our muscles...the things you’re going to the freaking gym to train...are 70 to almost 80% water.
So, if you wanna freaking optimize your workouts, don’t worry so much about the perfect exercise selection, the tempo, or the ranges of motion.
Worry about guzzling down some freaking hydration.
OK, you understand what I’m saying here!
Back in the day, it was the norm to see the freaks with the biggest peaks carrying around a gallon of water.
Now, I go to the gym every single day, and I can’t even freaking remember the last time I saw someone carrying around a gallon jug of water.
Even a shaker bottle.
Even freaking 36 ounces.
You know what I see?
I see a lot of freaking energy drink cans.
Which is great. Sure, caffeine’s great. Vitamins, electrolytes...cool.
But you’ve got, what, 16 freaking ounces of fluid total?
If you’re going to the gym to get a pump, understand that your muscles are 70 to almost 80 freaking percent water.
So, if you’re dehydrated, how juicy do you think that pump can possibly get?
That’s pretty simple logic, isn’t it?
Now factor in the pre-workout, which usually has pump agents, and maybe you’re even adding an extra pump powder to the mix because you wanna get extra voluptuous.
Then you guzzle all of that down with a total of freaking 12 ounces of water!
You’ve got all the raw ingredients to make a delicious soup, but you didn’t add any water.
How good is that soup gonna turn out?
You’re letting all those freaking ingredients go to waste...
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
For example, an ingredient such as glycerol works by hyper-hydrating muscle cells and volumizing those suckers, leading to bigger pumps, better endurance, and maybe some robust vascularity thrown into the mix.
But then again, you’re not putting water into the mix.
So, how are your muscle cells gonna pull in water if you’re drier than the Sahara Desert?
The fitness industry seems to be great at getting people to miss the whole freaking forest because it keeps parading the newest shiny tree around like it is the answer to everything.
Now yes, we have the Psycho Syrup.
It is about as good as a pump formula can possibly be made.
Ten freaking grams of glycerol per ounce. Citrulline, arginine, agmatine...the whole deal.
But none of that changes the point.
Water is what makes the pump possible.
Psycho Syrup is what you add when a “good pump” is no longer acceptable...when you want to go full engorged specimen.
That is exactly why I noticed the difference when we sold every last bottle faster than expected and were out for a few weeks.
I was out just as much as you were.
No secret pallet hidden in the warehouse.
I kept guzzling the gallon and training like I always do.
Yeah, I was still getting a pump.
But not the freakish girth-monster level to which I had become accustomed.
Thankfully, Psycho Syrup is finally back. https://www.psychopharma.com/products/psycho-syrup
Fill the freaking jug.
Take the Syrup.
Get extra voluptuous.
